We teach creative mending and hand sewing workshops to the general public, giving you the tools and confidence to increase the lifespan of your clothes.

Run by our skilled facilitators and assisted by our talented students, the workshops are also an opportunity for our community to build valuable work experience.

Saturday May 30, 10am-1pm

This 3-hour workshop will explore traditional hand darning methods offering practical skills for extending the life of everyday garments with lots of space for exploration and creative play built in. Perfect for beginners and anyone curious about how simple practical mending techniques can be creative.

The Craft of Mending: Swiss Darning Knitwear Workshop

Saturday July 1, 10am-1pm

In this 3-hour workshop, participants will learn to repair sweaters, socks, and other knitted garments using this technique as well as explore its possibilities for surface decoration depending on their level of experience.

The Craft of Mending: Sashiko Workshop

July 25, 10am-1pm

In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, we'll cover the basics of Sashiko stitching and show how it can be used to repair worn fabric while learning about the stories behind traditional patterns. Expect a calm, social space with plenty of time to practice, chat, and stitch.
