We’re committed to practicing ethical fashion - and teaching others how to do it, too.

We offer in-house mending and alterations services in our Ethical Clothing Australia-accredited studio at Collingwood Yards, and paid industry training for refugees and newly arrived migrants through our traineeship program.

How it works

  • Submit your request

    Fill in our short form and attach a photo of the garment. We’ll come back to you with a quote within 2 business days.

  • Drop off your garment

    Bring your piece to our studio at Collingwood Yards. We'll confirm the repair scope and timeline in person.

  • We mend and repair

    Your repair is completed by our skilled machinists, with Work2Learn trainees working alongside under supervision.

  • Collect your garment

    We'll contact you when it's ready. Collect from the studio, or discuss postage if you're not local.

By choosing to mend and alter your garments with us you’re also supporting refugee and new migrant students gain hands-on industry experience through our paid 5-month internship.

Because every garment is different, we quote each repair individually. The prices below are a guide, and we’ll confirm the final cost once we’ve assessed your piece.

  • Hems and length

    Trouser hem, dress hem, sleeve shortening

  • Zippers

    Replacement zip (exposed or concealed), zip repair

  • Patching

    Patch, knee and elbow reinforcement

  • Hand darning

    Wool, knit, and woven fabric — visible or invisible mend

  • Waist adjustments

    Taking in or letting out waist seams on trousers, skirts, dresses

  • Straps and fastenings

    Bra straps, bag straps, button replacement, hook and eye

  • Bespoke

    Structural changes, resizing, lining replacement. Tell us what you need.

  • We don’t repair:

    Bridal wear or wedding dresses, suiting, heavy denim, leather, swimwear or activewear

Not local? We’re an official partner of Hello Tailr, making it easy to organise repairs from anywhere in Australia.

Book through Hello Tailr and send your garment directly to our studio. We’ll mend it and return it to you by post.

We partner with businesses to repair returns, samples, production seconds and customer pieces — extending product life instead of writing it off.
