MENDING + ALTERATIONS - BOOK IN HERE

ALL ALTERATIONS AND MENDING ORDERS WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2026.

The Social Studio is now offering a mending and alteration service from our Ethical Clothing Australia-accredited manufacturing space in Collingwood Yards.

Alterations will be conducted by our skilled machinists as well as our Work2Learn trainees. By supporting this service you will also be supporting students of The Social Studio gain valuable industry experience through a paid 12-week internship program. 

Our services include: Hemming, zipper replacement, mending/patching, replacing buttons, strap adjustment and knitwear mending. 

We cannot take on jobs that include: Bridal wear, suiting, heavy denim, leather, swim/activewear.

Hemming : From $28.00

Hemming Jeans : $38.00

Blind Hemming (by machine) : $30.00

Blind Hemming (by hand) : $45.00

Fly zipper Replacement : $50.00 if zipper is supplied. $85.00 if zipper needs to be sourced for customer. 

Jacket Zipper Replacement : From $75.00

Button Replacement : From $10.00

Waist Adjustments : $45.00 - $85.00

Patching (tears/rips) : $45.00

Hand Darning (knitwear) : From $55.00 (size dependant)

Creative/Visible Hand Darning : From $65.00

Bespoke Alterations : POA 

If you require work done on short notice and you would like your item(s) back ASAP,  this can be done with an additional 'Rush Fee' of $15
